About Me

I write & illustrate heartfelt stories. Before doing this I was an art educator for 30 years.  I grew up in Oregon, graduating from the University of Oregon. I have attended numerous educational workshops and led a few myself.  In 2020, I received the ACE award.  This award is given to one teacher each year for excellence in education. I also have led parents & students on trips abroad to see art  and expand world views.  I have organized and held annual art exhibits to showcase my students’ work. I am happily married with 2 adult children.  We have a family line of educators, and my daughter is continuing on in this tradition.  I enjoy hiking, quilting, and painting. After retirement, I joined Julie Hedlund’s 12 X 12 challenge in hopes of becoming an author/illustrator. After seeing the need first hand in the classroom for social emotional learning materials, I set out to create my own books to meet this need.

I am a dreamer of infinite possibilities!

I am a maker of quilts, paintings, chocolate eclairs…

I am a world explorer - tasting new foods, listening to new languages, and experiencing new cultures

I am a waterfall chaser, hiker, and biker.

I am an observer of quiet small things.

I will always be a teacher at heart, a fierce friend, loving wife, and a mama bear.

I am a lifelong learner - growing and challenging myself to be the best version of me.
